In order to configure an email campaign through Blendee, from the side menu you can proceed by clicking on Direct Marketing -> E-mail Marketing.
If you have already set up newsletters, you can search by Id, Name, Subject and Status by clicking on the magnifying glass at the top.
Email Status
From the “Status” field, you can choose from the following options:
- Draft
- Inserted
- Scheduled
- Ready to send
- Sending
- Paused
- Sent
- Finished
- In error
In addition, emails are divided into 4 tabs:
- Email marketing – main tab where we can view all the emails created
- Archived – where archived emails are moved, after clicking Archive
- Created by Experience Manager – emails created within the Experience Manager and then within campaigns
- Testing – emails created for A/B testing
Newsletter creation
To set up a new newsletter, you can proceed by clicking on the blue button at the top right “New newsletter”.
This will take you to a screen where you can enter the basic settings of a new email campaign.

Basic Configuration
1 – NAME, SUBJECT AND SENDER
- communication name: this is the example name to be given to the newsletter so that it can be easily searched;
- email subject: this is the subject of the newsletter to which you can also add emojis or a parsing tag (article on Parsing tags);
- preview text: this is the preview text that appears after the subject line of the newsletter;
- sender name: this is the name to be entered as the sender of the newsletter;
- Sender Email: this is the email address from which you want to proceed with the sending: attention, you must enter a valid email address!
- Content valid for… You can select from the drop-down menu whether the content should be valid for:
– All registered users
– all users who have agreed to receive newsletters
– all users who have agreed to receive commercial communications
– all users who have agreed to receive newsletters or commercial communications - Send only to users who have accepted via double opt-in
2 – ASSIGN A SEGMENT OR LIST
Let’s proceed with the other features:
- User base: Select whether we want to send our newsletter to the entire user base or to a specific segment.
- rule for the application of the segment: this parameter defines how Blendee will apply the filter on the users of the segment, i.e. you can choose whether to select all users belonging to the segment or whether to select all users who do not belong to the segment.
- User List: with this field you select the list to which you want to send the newsletter.
3 – ASSOCIATE A WIDGET
Here you can select a widget to be included in the newsletter.
4 – EXCLUDE USERS WHO HAVE ALREADY BEEN SOLICITED
Among the basic settings, it is also possible to choose whether or not to exclude users who have already received the newsletter that we are about to send in a certain period of time from being sent.
5 – SET A LIMIT ON THE NUMBER OF EMAILS SENT
Among the settings, you can also choose the maximum limit of emails to be sent regardless of the number of users selected.
This feature, together with the possibility of excluding users who have already received the newsletter from being sent, is particularly useful in the ramp-up phase.
Once you have completed the basic settings, by clicking on “Next”, you can access a screen where you can choose whether to enter recommendations and possibly how to set the conditions.
Conditions for recommendation
7. MANDATORY CONDITIONS
Once you decide to enter recommendations, you can choose from several mandatory conditions that allow us to regulate their behavior.
- Brand
- Category
- Category: Cross
- Condition
- Product Brief Description
- Full Product Description
- Available
- Keywords
- Model
- Product Name
- Original Product Price
- Final Product Price
- Price Percentage
- Product ID
- Priority
- Quantity available
- Discount
- SKU
- Tags
- Related Products
After that, the fields specific to the selected condition will appear.
In particular, it is possible to specify at this stage whether the condition has a particular value or whether it is contextual, i.e. linked to the particular browsing context of the user (to be understood as a 30-day browsing period on the site)
In the case of the “brand” condition, for example, I can indicate if it is contextual to the user’s navigation or if it contains a particular value, i.e. the name (e.g.: Blendee)
You can add multiple conditions.
8. OPTIONAL CONDITIONS
They are secondary conditions that influence the results of recommendations without excluding products and content that do not have them, but giving priority to elements that have these conditions.
At this point, by clicking on “next”, you will be taken to a screen where you can choose the email template. To learn more about the features of the various templates, you can visit the dedicated page.
Template & Preview
9. CHOOSE YOUR EMAIL TEMPLATE
You can choose whether to select a new template to customize from a basic template or create the content manually via HTML.
If you want to proceed with one of the existing templates, simply click on “Select” next to the chosen template.
By clicking on “Preview” it is possible to view the template we are interested in both in mobile and desktop view.
Once you have selected the template, you can proceed by going directly to the editor section.
For all the features related to the editor, please refer to the dedicated article.
After completing the template, you can see a preview on the various devices (desktop and mobile) by clicking on the “Preview” button at the top.
Once you have created the template, you can proceed by clicking on “Save“.
The newsletter is now created and saved in “draft” mode.
Actions Menu
A series of actions can be displayed in correspondence with each newsletter.
- Send: by clicking on the icon you can send the newsletter on the date and time chosen during the configuration phase.

It will then be possible to display a pop-up in which to enter the email to which the test email is to be sent. Click Add to add the email to the mailing list. You will be able to add multiple email addresses by repeating the operation.

After carrying out the sending tests, you can proceed with the official sending of the newsletter.
Make Template
The template is saved and can be reused as a basis for future emails. You can find it among the templates once you get to this configuration phase or on “Settings” -> “Template Management” -> “Email”
Export List of unsubscribed/bounced users
This feature allows us to obtain a csv file, which will be saved in the Media Gallery as soon as it is ready, containing the list of unsubscribed/bounced users with this sending. If they are not there, the file will not be created but only a “No data to export” notification will be shown. For information on bounce emails, you can learn more by reading the dedicated article.

Create a new email identical to the current mail, with a new id.
