The Campaign is one of the key entities of the Blendee Adserver and represents the set of settings that govern the display of the Creative.
The Campaign is always associated with a specific Advertiser.
How to Create a Campaign
Click on “Campaigns” in the main menu of the adserver, proceed by clicking on “Add a Campaign to [Advertiser Name] “
or, on the Campaign List page, by clicking on the “Add Campaign” button located at the top right of the list
The system will open the Create/Edit Campaign page.
Proceed by filling out the General section with the key information of the Campaign.
- Campaign Id: unique numeric code automatically assigned by the system to each Campaign. When inserting a new Campaign, it has the value NEW;
- Campaign Name: The name of the Campaign assigned by the operator. Required field;
- External ID: (optional) External ID;
- Active: indicator of the activation status of the Campaign.
- Booked: checkbox to put the Campaign in Booked status;
- Enable Viewability: Enable the Campaign to track Viewability. If the Advertiser is enabled for Viewability tracking, the checkbox is selected by default.
- Payment Type: type of sale defined for the Campaign. This information is reported for billing accounting purposes. The proposed values are variable and defined by the customer;
- Owner: access role to the Adserver, usually associated with the person who manages the agreements with the client or the Agency;
- Agency: access role to the Adserver, usually associated with the Agency;
- Editor: access role to the Adserver, usually associated with the person who modifies the Campaign;
- Folder: name of the Folder to which the Campaign is associated;
- Colour: Colour that you can assign to the Campaign to easily locate it in the list of Campaigns.
Proceed by filling out the Set Schedule section with information about your Campaign goals.
- Show only from… To: start and end date of the Campaign expressed in DD/MM/YYYY. If checked, limit the delivery of the Campaign between the start date (Show from only) and the end date (To). If not selected, the Campaign is served without any time limit.
- Imps/Click Caps: Limits on the number of Impressions and/or clicks that the Campaign can deliver. Limits can be defined over the entire duration of the campaign (Totals) and/or Daily. The Campaign stops when the limit is reached. A value of zero indicates that no limit has been defined. Both the total number of impressions and clicks (Current) and the values still to be delivered (Remaining) calculated on the set limits are displayed in real time.
- Uniform Delivery: if selected, the system will serve the Campaign by distributing the Impressions over all the days of the Campaign’s life period in a uniform manner based on the expected hourly traffic.
- Dynamic Daily Cap: if selected, the system will calculate a daily Impression target, dividing the total target for all the days of Campaign delivery and distributing the daily Impressions evenly throughout the day based on the expected hourly traffic.
- Level: The level assigned to the Campaign by the user. Campaigns in Blendee can be allocated on different layers, which adjust their priority in delivery. At the time of the call to the Adserver, the system only delivers the Campaigns allocated on the highest layer. The system starts at the top layer and goes down until it finds a layer that contains Deliverable Campaigns.
- Weight: Weight assigned to the Campaign by the user. The weight value can vary from 1 to 10. This value is used by the system as a multiplication factor to determine the priority of a Campaign compared to others that use the same Locations at the same time. If the Campaign is of the Uniform Distribution type, and therefore with a goal to be achieved at a set time, the system will automatically modify the value to achieve the set goal.
Proceed by filling out the Day/Hour Targeting section.
- Days: days of the week on which the Campaign can be delivered. If no day is selected, the Campaign is delivered every day of the week;
- Hours: hours of the day during which the campaign can be delivered. If no time is selected, the Campaign is delivered throughout the day;
- Repeat Period Restriction: the frequency with which the Campaign can be viewed by a single user; the maximum number of times the Campaign can be shown to a single user within a time interval calculated in hours or browsing sessions.
Continue by selecting in the Creative List, the Creative you want to show and the Location on which to deliver the creative.
The system allows you to define white/blacklist rules for Advertiser/Creative/Campaign
and to associate the Campaign with sets of keywords so that it is delivered only when the call to the Adserver contains a specific keyword. Keywords can be used in inclusion (Inclusive) or in exclusion (Exclusive), i.e., the campaign is not delivered when one of the indicated keywords is contained in the call to the Adserver.
Through the Rules Targeting function, which can be activated through the appropriate section, it is possible to target the Campaign on rules that combine predefined parameters using Boolean logical operators.
When creating the Campaign, the user selects the Rule in the Use a default rule section among those provided for targeting or can create the rule from scratch in the Campaign.
Finally, it is possible to set filters for Browser/Operating System and Geo-Targeting.
- Browser & O.S. Targeting: allows you to filter the display of a campaign by certain browsers and/or operating systems.
- GeoTargeting: allows you to filter the display of a campaign to all users coming from a specific geographical area (detail by city, province, region).
