Through the management of Product Recommendations, it is possible to define a series of rules that will allow you to communicate to Blendee’s central artificial intelligence algorithms to take into account what we are communicating to them.
By accessing the side menu from the dashboard, to proceed it is advisable to choose the item “Website” and select “Recommendations”.
Once the first configurations have been set (please refer to the dedicated article) it is possible to manage the conditions that we want to apply to the algorithm we have chosen to select the products to be dispensed as recommended.
As you can see from the screenshot, there are 2 types of conditions that Blendee allows you to manage: mandatory conditions and optional conditions.
Mandatory conditions
Asthe name suggests, the mandatory conditions have the task of forcing the algorithm to select products that accurately reflect the chosen filters.
Please note: In particular, these conditions will be applied without taking into account the settings relating to the minimum number of products to be dispensed. In fact, if the conditions entered return a lower number, the algorithm will not perform any fall back.
By way of example, imagine that you have chosen to return 5 products (minimum) but that the conditions entered mean that there are only 3 products that can be identified. The output will only yield 3 recommended products. On the other hand, the suggested conditions are different (see below).
ATTENTION: in the event that there are no products that comply with the mandatory conditions, the recommendation will not be loaded on the page.
Optional conditions
In this case, the conditions we are going to apply are taken into account by the Blendee algorithm, but they are not considered binding. These conditions therefore serve to influence the algorithm, but if there are other performance-related priorities produced by Blendee, it will decide for us which products are most interesting for the current user.
Please note: in this case, taking the previous example, if we imagine that we have chosen to return 5 products (minimum) but that the conditions entered cause the discoverable products to be only 3, in this case the output will produce 3 recommended products influenced by the suggested conditions, to these will be added 2 products considered inherent by the Blendee algorithm.
Below is an excerpt of the optional conditions available.
