A Contextual is a type of Audience that contains users belonging to a Context. Contextual Audiences are created by defining a set of contexts to describe the content and, consequently, the interests of your users across your network.
Context and Keywords are the two fundamental components to create a Contextual:
- Context: describes the main topic of a digital content, such as “musical genres”;
- Keywords: these are the keywords to describe the characteristics of a Context. For the Context, “musical genres” could be “rock”, “indie” and “jazz”.
How to create a Contextual Audience
You can create a Contextual by clicking on the “Target” item and then “Contextual” from the Blendee main menu.
Once you have accessed the section, proceed by clicking on the “New Context” button at the top right.

A screen will open where you can enter the main information to configure your Context, such as:
- Name: name you want to give to the Context;
- Keywords: the keywords to be associated with the Context;
- Matching Keywords: the minimum number of keywords that must be present in a digital content for the user to belong to that Context;
- Associate Contextual Audience: Scroll the button from “no” to “yes.” This will automatically create a Contextual Audience that will contain all users labeled with that specific Context.
Once you have filled in all the fields, click on the “Confirm” button.

Once created, the Context will be available in the list of your Contexts in the Target>Contextual section of Blendee.
The Contextual Audience will instead be present in the list of your Audiences in the Target>Audience section of Blendee.
